Twin Dragon Sculpture
Two sculpted dragons emerge from the lid and face the central red pearl. Rather than using a simple painted decoration, the motif is fully modelled in relief, giving the lid a pronounced three dimensional character.
Rotating Red Pearl
The central red bead is designed to rotate, adding a subtle mechanical detail to the traditional dragon and pearl composition. It becomes an unexpected point of interaction when handling the teapot.
Precise Cut Fit Lid
The lid uses a traditional cut fit construction, allowing the lid and mouth to meet with a precise, closely fitted connection. This creates a clean transition between the upper and lower sections of the vessel.
Ding Inspired Tripod Base
Three supporting legs give the teapot a distinctive grounded stance inspired by the ancient bronze ding form. The base adds visual weight and ceremonial character while keeping the rounded body elevated.
Natural Zisha Clay
The body is crafted from zisha purple clay with a naturally earthy texture and an unglazed finish. The material develops greater depth and a smoother appearance through regular use.
Handcrafted Construction
The teapot is entirely handmade by skilled zisha artisans. The sculptural details, body, lid and structural elements are individually formed and finished, allowing each piece to retain subtle variations.
Nine Hole Strainer
A traditional nine hole filtration system is integrated into the teapot, helping maintain a smooth and even flow while retaining tea leaves.
