The elevated handle is individually woven by hand, creating a textured grip that feels more tactile and secure than a conventional clay handle. Its natural material contrast adds warmth to the dark clay body.
Painted Landscape
A continuous landscape of mountains, water, distant figures and rooftops is applied across the body using a traditional slip painting technique known as niu hui. The lighter decoration contrasts softly against the darker Zi Ni clay.
Original Ore Zi Ni Clay
The teapot is made from original ore Zi Ni, a traditional purple clay with an earthy, naturally textured surface. The unglazed clay remains understated when new and gradually develops greater depth through regular use.
Balanced Silhouette
The body transitions from a finer upper section into a fuller lower section, creating subtle variation across the otherwise restrained form. The spout follows the same proportional logic, tapering cleanly from its base towards the opening.
Low Profile Lid
A flat, understated lid knob completes the upper silhouette without competing with the painted landscape or woven handle.

Developing Patina
With repeated use, the natural Zi Ni clay gradually develops a warmer, smoother surface character. This transformation, traditionally known as yanghu, allows the teapot to evolve with its owner.
