The Dharma, Buddhist Teachings
Our philosophy comes from the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni, or Siddhārtha Gautama, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded nearly 3,000 years ago. Although some of the principles of Buddhism come from faith and ethical system dating back much further.
He was a teacher, who taught us that life is suffering, and the cycles of rebirth are suffering, but there is a way to liberate oneself from suffering through a path of compassionate thought and behaviour, achieving enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings.
ChaDao, is simply an extraordinary extension of this thought, focusing on the ability to find happiness and enlightenment in everyday situations. Forming bonds of friendship as a way of achieving peace and inclusive thought.
The following pages in this section discuss the basics of Buddhism and the path of enlightenment.
